Confirmed’: Journalist says Forest have just rejected Saudi bid for their £40k-a-week player
Nottingham Forest have rejected a bid from Saudi Arabian side Al Taee for forward Emmanuel Dennis.
25-year-old Dennis is said to be free to leave the City Ground, as the Reds look to recoup some of the £20 million they splashed on the Nigerian last summer.
Journalist Rudi Galetti confirmed that although the former Watford man is for sale, the bid for the unwanted Forest man has been rejected.
The Saudi Arabian transfer window closes at 10 pm UK time tonight, with time running out for Steve Cooper’s side to seal a deal with any Saudi sides interested in the forward.
Saudi bid for Emmanuel Dennis rejected
When he’s been called upon, Dennis has been largely impressive. However, Cooper simply hasn’t given him many opportunities to make his mark for the first-team.
The forward hasn’t been included in any matchday squads for the Reds so far this season, further backing the reports that Forest are willing to part ways with him.
Dennis is a proven Premier League player and it’s a shame he’s not played more. He was a regular in the Watford ream and when Forest signed him it looked as though it could prove to be an exciting addition.
Unfortunately for both parties, the deal hasn’t worked out as expected, but Forest are still looking to receive a decent fee for Dennis.
The Reds are asking for a fee in the region of £10 million for the 25-year-old, but it remains unknown what the fee Al Taee were proposing for the forward.
