Craig Reynolds Returns, Montgomery, Jackson Miss Practice
The Detroit Lions returned to the practice field Thursday to continue their preparation to face the Baltimore Ravens.
Those not spotted at the portion of practice open to the media include David Montgomery and Jonah Jackson. Running back Craig Reynolds was in action after being listed as a non-participant in Detroit’s Wednesday’s walk-through.
- While Detroit may be thin at the running back position, the coaching staff has confidence that any replacement will be able to execute, should a starter be forced to miss game action.
Defensive lineman Josh Paschal, who began practicing last but was ruled inactive against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has the opportunity to return this week to face a Ravens’ offense that has key weapons.
Paschal has played in just one game this season, the season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs. He recorded a key tackle for loss in the fourth quarter and amassed a Pro Football Focus overall defensive grade of 73.5 for his performance.
“Really good run player, really good pocket pusher,” Glenn said. “Drafted that player to do exactly that, so once he gets back, we expect him to do those things.”
Despite his return to practice and potential return to the lineup, the team will likely acclimate him back slowly, just like they have with several players that have returned from injury.
“I think we’ve did that with every player that’s coming off of injury. Because you have to get used to the speed of the game also,” Glenn explained. “Listen, he’ll play. Can’t tell you how much he’ll play but he’ll play, so hopefully we just keep him on the field.”
