Gradey Dick to Remains with 905 as Raptors Get Set to Take on Potentially Shorthanded Nets

The Toronto Raptors will keep Gradey Dick with the G League on Tuesday against a potentially shorthanded Brooklyn Nets team

The Toronto Raptors are going to let Gradey Dick get some G League run for a little bit longer.

Raptors assign first-round pick Gradey Dick to Raptors 905

The rookie first-round pick has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets as he’ll remain with the Raptors 905. He’s expected to play in Monday’s game for the 905 and potentially stick around through Friday’s game in Mississauga as well. There’s been no official timeline on when he will return to Toronto with the big club.

As for the Nets, their injury report is quite a bit longer.

Ben Simmons remains out with a lower back nerve impingement.

Cam Thomas is doubtful to play with a left ankle sprain.

Both Nic Claxton and Dennis Smith Jr. are questionable. Claxton has a left ankle sprain while Smith has a lower back sprain.

Cameron Johnson is considered probable with right leg cramping.

With Simmons, Claxton, Thomas, and Smith all sidelined on Sunday, the Nets opted to play small-ball, starting Dorian Finney-Smith, Royce O’Neal, Mikal Bridges, and Spencer Dinwiddie alongside Johnston.

Toronto remains without Christian Koloko who continues to deal with ongoing respiratory issues.

The Raptors ran a 10-man rotation on Sunday night with Gary Trent Jr., Malachi Flynn, Precious Achiuwa, Chris Boucher, and Otto Porter Jr. all contributing off the bench. That will likely continue against the Nets in Toronto’s final in-season tournament game of the year.

While the game will be meaningless for Toronto from a tournament perspective, the Nets remain alive in the tournament at 2-1 and will need to beat the Raptors to potentially advance to the next round.
