Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham have agreed a deal with Leeds United for Djed Spence.
Spence to Leeds reports were gaining momentum over the last few days and it now appears that the two clubs have agreed a loan deal.
As per Romano, a fee of £1m has been set and the only thing remaining is a green light from the player.
He tweeted:
Djed Spence, set to join to Leeds Utd on loan deal from Tottenham — agreement has been reached today between the two clubs.
£1m loan fee, player has to give green light soon then here we go
Tottenham were reportedly keen on a permanent sale but all offers on the table were loan offers.
Leeds United were not the only club interested in signing him on loan. Bristol City and Swansea City were also interested but Leeds United have won the race for him.
They have now taken off two players from Tottenham’s wage list signing both Joe Rodon and Spence on loan.
Spence joined Tottenham at the start of the last season for a fee of around £20m but has not been allowed enough
playing time to showcase his abilities.
He was signed under the management of former Tottenham boss Antonio Conte, who later publicly admitted that the player was a club signing rather than his personal preference.
And he further fell down the pecking order after the signing of Pedro Porro in January who is a first team starter for Ange as well.
Spence now has a chance to impress at Leeds with the hope that he is able to force himself in the Spurs team next season.
