Everton have stumped up the £25m asking price to agree a late night deal for a striker West Ham have twice tried to sign with Beto is set for a medical.

West Ham and Everton are both on the hunt for a new striker and it seems Sean Dyche may have made a breakthrough.

The Hammers and Toffees have made contrasting starts to the new season. And David Moyes has had a vastly superior summer transfer window too.

West Ham are on the verge of making their fourth high quality signing of the window after agreeing a deal for brilliant Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus. And the former Everton boss is targeting a striker next with next Friday’s deadline coming into view.

With a limited budget Everton have also been feverishly trying to find a forward who can stay fit and score goals.

Now they’re close to bringing in a player who has been on West Ham’s radar from as far back as 2021.

West Ham had a keen interest in striker Beto two summers ago when he was at Portimonense, as reported at the time by Portuguese outlet Record.

West Ham held talks but a deal never materialised and the 6ft 4in star signed for Udinese instead.

Third time lucky for Beto over Premier League move

West Ham were linked with Beto again last summer with head of recruitment Rob Newman reportedly recommending a fresh bid for the forward after travelling to Italy to scout him according to 90 Min.

In the end West Ham signed another striker from Serie A instead in the shape of Gianluca Scamacca. But that did not work out and he has been offloaded to Atalanta one year on.

Now Beto finally looks set for a move to the Premier League – but with Everton instead.

According to reports in Italy, Everton have agreed the fee after having an initial bid rejected earlier this week.

Beto has scored and laid on an assist in Udinese’s first two games of the season. And he notched 10 goals last term.

West Ham meanwhile are said to be focusing on trying to sign Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri or PSG’s Hugo Ekitike before the window closes. Ekitike has also been linked with Everton this summer.
