Bournemouth are closing in on the signing of Tyler Adams after the USA international passed his medical Friday.
The Stars and Stripes captain underwent his medical Friday and is now set to put pen to paper on his contract with the Cherries.
The midfielder is set to make the move to the south coast of England from Leeds, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, for £20million.
Adams was on the brink of signing a contract with Chelsea last week, but the deal broke down at the death.
Chelsea’s commitment to signing Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia meant a deal for Adams was considered one too much, particularly as he will not be fully fit to play until next month.
And Bournemouth – owned by American tycoon Bill Foley – have moved quickly to secure the midfielder.
Mail Sport first revealed that Bournemouth were interested in swooping for Adams even with the 24-year-old currently ruled out for several weeks
Brighton were also interested in Adams but their south coast rivals have moved quickly to secure his transfer.
With Premier League pedigree and leadership qualities, the USA international captain, who is likely to lead his country into the next World Cup, has had plenty of interest with Brighton, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth among the clubs to have made enquiries of varying degrees.
