“Gonzalo Montiel to Nottingham Forest, here we go — deal confirmed,” he wrote. “Medical has been completed. “Loan deal with €11m buy clause being sealed with Sevilla right now.”

There are, however, contrasting reports over the player’s medical. The Telegraph’s John Percy has reported that the defender is set to undergo a medical on Tuesday, with Forest seeing his acquisition as a “huge coup”.

It had earlier been reported that the clause in the loan deal could become mandatory if certain conditions are met. Should a deal be completed then Gonzalo would become the fourth new signing of the summer transfer window. Ola Aina, Anthony Elanga and Matt Turner have all completed moves to the City Ground so far.
