Nottingham Forest agree signing despite offering less than competition – Player flying for medicals

Corinthians today announced to the Brazilian media that Murillo is on his way to Nottingham Forest.

The club confirmed to several outlets that the Reds’ bid for the defender was accepted, and he’s now been authorised to fly to England for the medicals and contract signature.

Now according to UOL journalist Samir Carvalho, it hadn’t been Nottingham Forest who made the highest offer for Murillo.

It’s claimed that Torino had actually put €1m more on the table. The player, however, chose to move to the Premier League, and had his desire respected by Corinthians.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly spending €13m on the signing, with another €3m in bonuses. Those add-ons are related to his starts at the club and call-ups to the national team.

Carvalho adds that Corinthians are also keeping 20% of a future transfer.

The links between Nottingham Forest and Murillo began at the start of the month, and the Reds apparently moved quickly to get the transfer done. Recent reports from Brazil claimed the player was proposed to the Reds, instead of being found by their people in South America.
