Judiciary Report: Taufa referred after hip-drop send off

Tonga women’s forward Iliasaane Taufa has been referred to Judiciary after being sent off for a hip drop tackle in her side’s loss to the Kiwi Ferns on Saturday.

Taufa was dismissed in the 41st minute of the match following the tackle on Roosters NRLW forward Amelia Pasikala, which saw her leave the field with a suspected broken leg.

Meanwhile PNG Kumuls centre Zac Laybutt and Cook Islands prop Davvy Moale have been fined a percentage of their match fees after pleading guilty to charges arising from Sunday’s game in Port Moresby.

Laybutt has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for a Crusher Tackle on Kumuls bench forward Rhys Dakin.

Moale was charged with Dangerous Contact for a trip on Kumuls winger Alex Johnston and has been fined 7 per cent of his match fee with an early guilty plea.
