Player ‘currently undergoing medical’ at Burnley – Will then sign contract until 2028
After a few days of people saying that Wilson Odobert is close to signing for Burnley, the claims have become a reality.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to reveal that the young French winger is ‘currently undergoing his medical tests’ with the Clarets ahead of joining Vincent Kompany’s squad in the Premier League.
Once the formalities are done and no health issues have been discovered, Odobert will then sign a contract with Burnley until 2028.
For those who are still unaware as to who the 18-year-old is, he is arriving from Troyes in France, who were relegated to Ligue 2 last season.
He only joined them from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer the year before, but quickly showed what he was capable of by scoring four goals and assisting another two in 32 league games.
That’s what caught the eye of Kompany and Burnley, and that’s why they were so keen to get a deal over the line for the youngster.

The 26-year-old missed all eight of Burnley’s friendly games with what Kompany has described as a “niggle”.
While the Burnley boss hasn’t put an exact timeline on Benson’s return, he doesn’t envisage it being a lengthy absence.
“He’s been good,” Kompany said during Thursday’s press conference.
“He’s been unfortunate to pick up a little niggle along the way, but it’s either tomorrow or the weeks after he will be ready, so no major concerns.”
Benson was recently rewarded for his impressive debut campaign with a new four-year contract
The wide man scored 13 goals last season as the Clarets claimed the Championship title. This included the unforgettable winner at Ewood Park which secured the league title back in April.
