Jaguars Sign A QB Amid Trevor Lawrence Injury Concerns
The Jacksonville Jaguars can’t seem to catch a break right now.
Everything has gone south for Doug Pederson’s team as of late, and with the finish line so close and the division still up for grabs, they just cannot leave anything to chance
With that in mind, Adam Schefter of ESPN just announced that they’ve made a minor signing regarding their QB room.
With star QB1 Trevor Lawrence currently in the league’s concussion protocol and the New England Patriots claiming Nathan Rourke off waivers, the Jaguars signed E.J. Perry to join their practice squad.
Notably, this is another Sean Stellato client, the hottest agent in the league, who also represents New York Giants QB Tommy DeVito.
Perry has already spent some time with the organization.
He was there during the 2022 offseason program and training camp and joined them on the practice squad for months.
He was waived in March and later claimed off waivers by the Houston Texans, being waived again in May.
He played college football at Brown and also spent some time with the Michigan Panthers of the USFL.
The Jaguars cannot afford another setback this Sunday, and not having their best player on the field is going to be an issue.
They’ll face the red-hot Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the division still on the line, and if Lawrence isn’t cleared to play in time for the game, it’ll be up to C.J. Beathard to start in this crucial matchup, with Perry most likely serving as his backup in the event of an injury.
