Steelers Sign Former Memphis LB
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers made two practice squad moves as they enter Week 11 in preparation for the Cleveland Browns. The team announced they have re-signed defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko and also added inside linebacker Tyler Murray. Fehoko was released from the 53-man roster yesterday as the team creates space for the return of tight end Pat Freiermuth and the elevation of an inside linebacker for Week 11.
They also added Murray, an undrafted rookie out of Memphis, who played at three schools before making his way to the NFL. Murray started his college career at Troy, where he played 20 games and recorded 58 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and four interceptions. He then transferred to Charlotte, playing two years there before heading to Memphis to finish his career. He finished his five years of NCAA ball with 251 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and eight interceptions.
The Steelers made it known they plan to elevate Mykal Walker and Tariq Carpenter for their Week 11 game against the Browns. Carpenter was called up last week and recorded a special teams tackle. Walker started 12 games for the Atlanta Falcons last season and could be the team’s first option in replacing Kwon Alexander and Cole Holcomb.
