Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as former Reds striker Nigel Jemson takes up new role
Former Nottingham Forest striker Nigel Jemson will be getting into the swing of a new role after taking up a post at The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club.
Ex-Reds ace Jemson has been appointed as the venue’s new golf experience manager. The role involves liaising directly with members, guests and visitors to help make their visit “a memorable and rewarding experience”.
A regular player at The Nottinghamshire, Jemson said: “I’m very passionate about my golf and know the club well. So, when Alan (owner Alan Hardy) approached me about this position, I felt it was something I really wanted to do.
“Combining my passion for golf and people at one of the finest golf clubs in the country is a dream job. I’m really looking forward to the challenge and want to be the approachable person that facilitates each individual’s memorable experience at The Nottinghamshire. And if people also want to have a chat about football, well that’s fine by me too.”
Owner Alan Hardy said of Jemson’s appointment: “I am incredibly excited to welcome Nigel Jemson to our team, who I know will help us to continually strive to set the bar high for customer experience at the most prestigious golf resort in the East Midlands. It is hugely important to me that we ensure both our members and visitors experience world class hospitality when playing golf at The Nottinghamshire, or indeed have any interaction with us whilst visiting our resort. Customer satisfaction is absolutely key, and Nigel brings the passion and experience to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer journey at an elite level.”
Jemson will also be responsible for liaising with related businesses and suppliers, and creating and managing larger events. Since hanging up his boots, he has taken on sports management and brand ambassador responsibilities and is a match day host at the City Ground.
