A.J. Brown had another sideline meltdown during one-catch night in Eagles win

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown appeared frustrated with quarterback Jalen Hurts on the sidelines before they rallied past the Chiefs for a 21-17 win in the Super Bowl rematch on “Monday Night Football.”

Brown chirped at Hurts after the quarterback threw an interception that could have resulted in a big play early in the second quarter with the game tied, 7-all.

Hurts attempted to connect with Brown around the Chiefs’ 30-yard line, but it was instead picked off by Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.

It appeared Brown could have had a long gain had Hurts thrown deep, but the quarterback instead threw short as if he expected Brown to settle around the 30.

After the play, cameras captured Brown looking animated while he flailed his arms in the air.

It was reminiscent of their tense back-and-forth during the second half of Philadelphia’s win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 14, which was broken up by coach Nick Sirianni.

“The little sideline discussion, I want you all to know that’s what it was — it was a discussion,” Brown told ESPN after the Minnesota game. “This is a game that we both love, and I want everybody to understand that sometimes emotions run high.

“That doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. That doesn’t mean I’m beefing with Jalen. I know everybody took that out of context, but it’s not a big deal, me and him are still on the same page, we’re still growing, we’re still trying to become great and get wins most importantly,”

Sometimes, that’s what close friends do. They bicker.

Their friendship stretches back to high school, when Hurts tried to recruit Brown to come to Alabama.

The NFL stars have discussed their relationship on many occasions, often referring to each other as brothers and family.

Their connection on and off the field has been on display since Hurts pushed the Eagles to acquire Brown in a a blockbuster trade with the Titans in April 2022.
