Eight national recruits from the 2024 class that could give Ohio State trouble in years to come
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State brought in a top five class in the 2024 cycle, adding a handful of elite players to the roster — including the No. 1 overall commit in the class.
But who are some players that Ohio State will have to keep an eye on for years to come that aren’t Buckeyes? Here are a handful of players to keep tabs on:
Dylan Raiola, quarterback, Nebraska
Dylan Raiola, one time an Ohio State commit in the class, spurned Georgia and committed to Nebraska in one of the more surprising recruiting cycle flips.
The No. 6 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings, Raiola and the Cornhuskers have the Buckeyes on the schedule in 2024 (in Columbus) and in 2026 (in Lincoln).

Jeremiah McClellan, wide receiver, Oregon
Another former Ohio State commit, Jeremiah McClellan decommitted on signing day to head for Eugene, Oregon.
Ranked the No. 49 player in the 247Sports composite rankings, he was ranked third in Ohio State’s class behind five-stars Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham. But McClellan certainly has a ton of talent, and in the Big Ten, he could eventually do some damage to what could’ve been his college destination.
Julian Sayin, quarterback, Alabama
This seems a bit off the wall, but a closer inspection of the future of college football shows it’s not so far-fetched.
Julian Sayin, the No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 class, is headed to Tuscaloosa and is set to be the next in a line of talented quarterbacks for the Crimson Tide. And considering that the 12-team playoff is coming next season, the odds of Alabama and Ohio State crossing paths eventually is certainly possible. And if so, Sayin, ranked above Air Noland in the class, could present some problems.
