According to a report, if Everton fires their current manager, a 50-year-old will take his place. Dyche, Sean

Pascal Jansen may take Sean Dyche’s place at Everton.

TEAMtalk claims that the Toffees have the head coach of AZ Alkmaar at the top of their shortlist, and that is accurate.

London-born Jansen has spent the majority of his coaching career so far in the Netherlands, where he grew up. The 50-year-old has enjoyed spells with the likes of Vitesse, Sparta Rotterdam and PSV, before joining AZ in 2018.

After originally working as a coach, Jansen was promoted to their manager in December 2020 and has impressed ever-since.

Jansen led AZ to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League last season, before they were knocked out of the competition by eventual winners West Ham.

They have picked up where they left off this time round and currently sit level on points with PSV at the top of the Eredivisie, left behind on goal difference. The Dutch club have secured five wins from their opening five matches.

Could Everton replace Dyche with Pascal Jansen this season?

Everton are now reportedly one of a number of clubs tracking Jansen and would consider bringing him into take Dyche‘s place, though they are not currently making concrete moves to sack the former Burnley man.

The Toffees aren’t the only side interested in Jansen however, with Crystal Palace and Rangers also keeping an eye on his progress. West Ham were also previously looking at Jansen before they decided to keep hold of David Moyes following their European glory.

At the moment, it doesn’t look like Everton are eager to sack Dyche. However, that could all change once their takeover is completed.

Everton fans may want to follow AZ’s results over the next few months as things could change once 777 Partners arrive. It will also heavily depend on whether Dyche can use their win over Brentford to turn things around on Merseyside.
