Raul Jimenez: Fulham finalise one deal and ready to sign second forward
Fulham are planning for life without Aleksandar Mitrovic with the signing of Wolves star Raul Jimenez set to be finalised, sources have told Football Insider.
However, the 32-year-old is not believed to be a direct replacement for Mitrovic – who is training alone as he attempts to force through a Saudi Pro League move.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (24 July) that Fulham are becoming increasingly resigned to losing their star man to Al-Hilal this summer.
They have seen their first two offers for Mitrovic, 28, rejected, but are set to return with an offer worth around £50million.
Jimenez is set to come into the Fulham attack – with Marco Silva keen to add striking reinforcements even before the start of the Mitrovic saga.
A medical is already underway after a £5.5million fee was agreed with Wolves.
And a well-placed source has revealed that the Cottagers would sign a further big-money forward should the Serbian be granted his money-spinning move.
Mitrovic netted 15 strikes last season as Marco Silva’s side consolidated their Premier League status with a 10th-place finish.
Meanwhile, Jimenez managed just three goals in 20 outings last season and has scored only 10 Premier League goals in the last three campaigns.
Manager Marco Silva has also been the subject of interest from the ambitious Saudi Pro League project this summer.
As per Sky Sports (24 July), Silva has confirmed he has rejected a £40million two-year deal from Al-Hilal – who are also chasing Mitrovic.
Fulham start their Premier League campaign against Man United on 12 August.
In other news, Fulham close to agreeing £33million double deal.
