Swansea City, Bristol City and Reading make moves to sign Man City star Fiorini – sources

swansea City, Bristol City and Reading have made moves to sign Man City midfielder Lewis Fiorini, sources have told Football Insider.

The trio have registered their interest in taking the 21-year-old on loan for next season.

But they face competition for a deal from European clubs as City weigh up the best move for the rising star.

Fiorini, a Scotland Under-21 international, spent last season on loan at Blackpool and has had previous spells at Lincoln and NAC Breda.

Manchester City are weighing up whether or not to sanction a loan or permanent move for Fiorini.

The midfielder’s current contract at the Etihad runs until 2026 and he has been part of City’s youth set up for more than ten years and progressed through several age groups.

Since his arrival in Manchester, Fiorini has made 38 appearances for City’s various youth sides and has scored 12 goals in those outings.

 

Man City

During his loan spell last season, Fiorini made 14 appearances for Championship side Blackpool across all competitions and was in the starting lineup for all of those matches, netting one goal and providing two assists.

Although he was born in England, the centre mid has chosen to share his national allegiances with Scotland and has featured for them since under-16s level.

Fiorini has made 17 appearances across the various international age groups and netted seven goals and offered up two assists in those outings.
