Fallen Through’: Bournemouth Suffer Deadline Day Disappointment as Move for ‘Brilliant’ International Player Collapses
Bournemouth were hoping to achieve a deadline-day move that would have boosted their attacking options, but instead, the move failed to materialise. This is according to The Athletic, which posted that the Cherries’ efforts to sign Patson Daka on loan from Leicester City “is off.”
Bournemouth Will Not Get Patson Daka on Loan from Leicester City
Failed Patson Daka Loan
Aside from The Athletic’s tweet, which stated that the 24-year-old Daka would not be completing the Vitality Stadium loan move, Jacob Transwell also mentioned that Kieffer Moore will stay with the Cherries.
Due to the failed Daka pursuit, Bournemouth will look to Leeds United’s Luis Sinisterra for a loan. The 24-year-old winger would be a suitable alternative to the Zambian, but Daka was the preferred man.
Season Outlook for both Clubs
Bournemouth have had an underwhelming season so far. Losses to Liverpool and Tottenham and a draw against West Ham leave the Cherries with one point. That places them 16th in the table. Sinisterra will give Bournemouth an attacking boost, especially with the failed Daka move, which will be vital for the club to obtain Premier League safety.
The Foxes are the only Championship team that have won all four of their opening fixtures. They have won all these matches by narrow one-goal margins, and losing a player of Daka’s capabilities could hurt their promotion charge.
The 24-year-old Zambian international joined Leicester in 2021 for £23m from RB Salzburg. Since joining the club, Daka, previously described as “brilliant,” has scored nine goals in 53 league games for the Foxes.
