Fulham had a nightmare when they sold a “monster” with 96 goals and 59 assists for £1.5 million.

‘We have to say, credit to them’ – Premier League manager heaps  praise on Spurs

Marco Silva has been extremely impressed with Spurs’ performances so far this season and admitted that a big challenge awaits his side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday.

Spurs will be happy to return to home comforts, three weeks on from the dramatic end to the clash against Liverpool, with there being a celebratory atmosphere around the stadium after the final whistle.

Ange Posteocolgou’s men will be hoping to put on a show in front of their supporters and have the added incentive of trying to retake their place at the summit of the Premier League table.

Fulham have been a bit hit-and-miss this season and Silva admitted that his side face a tough task against their London rivals.

He said about the clash (via Football 365): “We look at the matches with the trust and belief of ourselves, respecting of course Tottenham. Tottenham is having an amazing start to the season, they are on the top of the table and it’s clear why.”

“Not just results but the way they have been achieving the results has been really good, we have to say credit to them.”

Will Fulham be Tottenham’s bogey team this year?

The Cottagers have the distinction of being the only side to beat Spurs this season, having overcome the Lilywhites on penalties in the second round of the Carabao Cup, but Silva admitted that the challenge on Monday will be quite different.

When asked about beating Tottenham earlier this season, he said: “Of course, they had a bad result – if I can say that – this season against us in the Carabao Cup at the Cottage. It’s a different scenario and a different competition as well, they have made some changes, we did as well.

“But it’s going to be tough, playing there they are in a good moment the way they have been playing and the connections between them are growing. It’s going to be a great challenge for us.

“When you play teams in another stadium of that quality it’s always a great challenge and it’s going to be there for sure. It’s going to demand really hard work from ourselves and really good organisation, we have the belief and the courage to play our way.”

Silva is a good tactician and Fulham are more than capable of causing an upset if we are not switched on. We need to start on the front foot and look to score an early goal to make things a lot easier for ourselves.
