Jack Clarke has tipped one Sunderland teammate to go onto bigger things

Jack Clarke believes his Sunderland teammate, Jobe Bellingham, has a huge future ahead of him.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the winger praised Jobe and admitted that he is a ‘joy to play with’.

Jobe made the move from Birmingham City to Sunderland in the summer, arriving on a four-year contract for £1.5 million plus add-ons.

The midfielder arrived with a lot of talk around his ability, as his brother Jude completed a move to Real Madrid on the same day.

Jobe was expected to be rotated in and out of the squad after turning 18 only last month, however his brilliant form has seen him start all 12 of Sunderland’s games in the Championship this season.

The teenager has looked extremely grown up and experienced in a very youthful squad, bagging a brace against Rotherham United and playing a key part in Jack Clarke‘s equaliser against Stoke City.

While it is Clarke that has netted eight goals this season, Jobe has also received plenty of plaudits, with his teammate well aware of his talent.

“He’s been so good since he arrived,” Clarke said. “He’s got so much quality and so many strings to his bow.

“He just needs to finely tune and grow into the player he can be. We’ve seen glimpses of it, and on his day he’s a joy to watch and a joy to play with.”

Jobe Bellingham and Sunderland are a match made in heaven

Jobe Bellingham is easily Sunderland’s most impressive signings of the summer so far, and it’s pretty unbelievable that he only just turned 18 and is also one of the lowest paid players in the starting line-up.

Real Madrid reportedly sent scouts to watch the midfielder for England U19s recently, though that certainly wouldn’t be happening if it wasn’t for his brother currently being the best player in the world.

I’m sure Jobe has a very sensible head on his shoulders, but he would be silly to even consider such a move at this point in his career.

The youngster is a brilliant footballer, but he is far from the quality of Jude and would never make it to the senior team of the Spanish giants.

Stay with Sunderland, let Tony Mowbray help you grow and then think about your future.
