‘Long-term’ injuries have sidelined Lincoln City’s attackers Tyler Walker and Ben House.
Ben House and Tyler Walker, two attackers for Lincoln City, have been diagnosed with long-term injuries, and manager Mark Kennedy says he is “heartbroken” for their families.
House, 24, who last appeared in the Carabao Cup victory over Sheffield United in August, will be sidelined for “between three and five months” due to a hip issue.
Walker, 26, last played on August 26 and will be sidelined for at least another eight weeks due to a hamstring injury.
Kennedy remarked, “They are both a long way from playing in Lincoln shirts.
They both have quite serious long-term injuries. It breaks their hearts because they want to be playing football because they love their jobs.
With 13 goals, House led Lincoln in scoring last season. After winning the season’s players’ player award,
Walker returned to Lincoln after being released by Championship team Coventry at the end of the previous campaign. During a loan stint there in 2019–20, Walker scored 16 goals.
Before getting hurt, neither had managed to score a goal this year, but Kennedy freely acknowledges that their absences will be felt.
“They are very different players, but they are equally outstanding,” Kennedy said on BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
“We have lost two Grade A, top, top scorers, which is just so, so unfortunate. It’s a difficult pill to take.
Lincoln is currently tenth in League One after drawing 1-1 with Carlisle on Saturday, extending their undefeated streak in all competitions to eight games.
