Prior to their trip to Stockport County, Wrexham will evaluate their primary striker, according to Parkinson.
Phil Parkinson, the manager of Wrexham, has stated that they will examine striker Ollie Palmer before their trip to Stockport County.
As they prepare to play the Hatters at a sold-out Edgeley Park, Wrexham is hope the attacker is healthy.
Palmer, 31, scored in the Red Dragons’ most recent 3-0 victory over Grimsby Town. He has, however, developed a knee issue.
The Evening Leader quotes Parkinson as saying, “Ollie has had a bit of a difficulty with his knee. We have gotten it checked, and it is nothing dangerous; we will only need to keep an eye on him over the week.
Ollie had a good off-season and improved his fitness. He’s been working on his game, which is clearly vital, and he was rewarded with a well-placed goal over the weekend.
Wrexham hopes an injury boost will help.
Palmer is a crucial player for Wrexham up top and would benefit the team if he were healthy against Stockport. However, they do have other capable replacements in his position, like Paul Mullin, Steven Fletcher, and Sam Dalby, if he isn’t well enough to play.
Following their National League championship, Parkinson’s team has successfully transitioned to the Football League. They are unbeaten in their last seven league games and haven’t lost since the first game.
.
In order to improve their attacking options, Wrexham recruited Palmer in January 2022 on a three-and-a-half-year contract. Since then, he has scored 34 goals in 34 games, including 18 last season, which helped the team win the fifth tier championship. He has made just around 550 appearances in his career, which is great experience for his team.
The Epsom native has formerly played for AFC Wimbledon, Mansfield Town, Leyton Orient, Lincoln City, and Crawley Town. He has benefited from his gamble to move to the Racecourse Ground and descend into non-league.
As they get ready to play Stockport, a team that has won its previous two straight games, Wrexham will evaluate him over the coming days. Others will get the chance to lead the line if he isn’t available.
