Alabama moves up in basketball coaches poll
The Alabama Crimson Tide improved its ranking in the men’s basketball coaches poll, which was released on Monday.
After opening the season at No. 24, Alabama now sits at No. 22 after beating Morehead State and Indiana State last week. Aaron Estrada scored 27 points in Alabama’s 102-80 win over the Sycamores.
Grant Nelson led the way for Alabama in his first game, a 105-73 win over Morehead State. He finished with a team-leading 24 points and seven rebounds.
The Crimson Tide (2-0) hosts South Alabama on Tuesday before facing Mercer on Friday in the Emerald Coast Classic.
Kansas and Purdue are still No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Arizona, who debuted at No. 11, is now ranked No. 3. UConn and Marquette round out the top five.
