‘We’re all motivated’: Callum Hudson-Odoi reveals Nottingham Forest’s exciting target for this season

Despite recently joining the club, Callum Hudson-Odoi has been talking to Sky Sports about the belief within the Nottingham Forest squad.

The 22-year-old winger joined the Reds from Chelsea on deadline day for a fee in the region of £3.5 million, with a substantial sell-on fee going to his boyhood club should he leave the City Ground.

However, just three games into his Forest career the winger already looks to be a great piece of business having scored a stunner against Burnley before impressive displays against Manchester City and Brentford.

Hudson-Odoi admits that he has settled into life at the City Ground quickly, with boss Steve Cooper instilling an abundance of confidence into the squad helping them achieve their target for this season.

Hudson-Odoi on Forest’s targets this season

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Hudson-Odoi admitted that Steve Cooper and the squad believe they can break into the top half this season.

We wanna make sure that this season we’re in the top ten – it’s a massive target for everyone at the club.

“The confidence and motivation within the dressing room to try and win games to get points on the table is massive and everyone within the team is hungry to make the top ten.

“You never know in football, anything can happen – so we’re full of belief.”

A big ask for Nottingham Forest

The Reds would have to complete a stellar campaign if they are to achieve the 22-year-old’s ambitious target, but there is no reason why they can’t compete with the best sides in the division.

Forest have a really talented squad with lots of depth in key areas – something which they were desperately lacking last campaign.

Cooper’s side will be looking to continue the solid start to the campaign, as they travel to face Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday evening.
