Insider Reveals More Injury News For The Bengals At WR
Quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a strained calf early in training camp, and he struggled as a result early in the season as he was putting up uncharacteristically poor numbers.
The Bengals have won four games in a row as Burrow has started to look like his old self, but just when it looked like perhaps they had gotten back to their usual selves, the injury bug has bitten them again.
Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been dealing with a back injury, and he missed practice on Wednesday as a result, and WR2 Tee Higgins was limited in practice because of a hamstring ailment, per Adam Schefter.
If both wideouts are unavailable this Sunday, or even if only Chase has to sit out, Cincinnati could be in a world of trouble against the Houston Texans, who are sneaky good at 4-4 and have a red-hot rookie QB in C.J. Stroud.
Chase is eighth in the NFL with 697 receiving yards on the season, and while Higgins’ numbers are down this season, he has stepped things up in his last two games.
He had five catches for 69 yards in Week 8 versus the San Francisco 49ers, and this past Sunday, he caught eight balls for 110 yards against the Buffalo Bills.
After this weekend’s game against Houston, the Bengals will ready themselves for a Week 11 showdown versus the Baltimore Ravens.
