Leeds United ace Cody Drameh could leave before transfer window shuts

Cody Drameh could still leave Leeds United this summer before the transfer window closes, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (10 August), the journalist reports that Burnley are still monitoring the situation for the young defender amid his situation at Elland Road

Drameh has one year remaining on his deal and reportedly wanted to leave this summer unless he was guaranteed to be first-choice, but he has started as a substitute in both games so far this season.

“Guys! Keep an eye on Cody Drameh (Leeds) until the end of the transfer window,” he said.

“The English International U21 player was the best full back of the year last season in Championship & could be helpful to many clubs in the Premier League.

“Drameh has a year contract left & has always been on Burnley FC radars. Would be a good idea for Leeds United to get him as number 1 at his position…

Wait and see. Statistics are clear.”

Worrying

This was always a worry under Daniel Farke and is one of the reasons why there was so much confusion around the deal for Max Aarons.

Drameh has been fantastic on two separate loan deals away from the club while Luke Ayling continues to decline, despite his amazing service for the club over the years.

But Drameh is there and ready to step up and take his place right now, and with just 12 months remaining on his deal the club are walking a tight rope with his future by not using him or selling him.

With weeks remaining in the window it looks like the club should be anticipating offers from elsewhere, and the player is likely to push for a move if he isn’t used in the meantime.

It’s a nightmare scenario now for the Whites as the squad keeps getting weaker and more are likely to go, while incoming look less likely as the days pass.

In other Leeds news, Whites ace could make debut for new club on Sunday after deal agreed.
