The Italian journalist has claimed that Tottenham have already held “positive talks” with Johnson’s side and are now in discussions with Forest over a deal.

Romano has added that although Brentford were initially interested in the 22-year-old Wales international forward, but the Bees have now left talks.

It seems that Tottenham are now getting very close to getting a deal done for Johnson.

If the player wants to move to Spurs and Forest are willing to sell him, then it is only a matter of time before the two clubs agree on a deal.

There is speculation that Forest want £50 million in transfer fees for the forward.

It remains to be seen if Spurs pay that sum.

Johnson is a very highly-rated player who is only 22 and is going to improve and develop in the coming years.

Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey described his Welsh compatriot as a “very dangerous” player who is “very rapid” and “poses a threat in behind” in NottinghamshireLive in June 2023.

Johnson has made 41 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
