Exeter City host Leyton Orient in League One this weekend.
Exeter City and Leyton Orient play out one of the few League One fixtures still on during this month’s international break, and it should be an exciting encounter.
The Grecians have won their last four in all competitions and currently sit in 1st place of the League One table having taken 13 points from their opening six games, conceding just twice in the process.
Orient meanwhile have struggled to adjust following their promotion from League Two. The O’s find themsleves in 20th place of the table and already with a goal difference of -7, having won just once all season.
Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…
Luke Phelps
“It’s been a tough start for Leyton Orient. But they’ve shown that they can give teams a headache and I think they’ll put up a good fight against Exeter.
“This will no doubt be Orient’s toughest game of the season so far with Exeter looking like the early title contenders in the third tier, though there’s obviously a long way to go.
“Exeter seem extremely efficient and organised right now, albeit without scoring too many goals, so I’ll back them for a win here.”
James Ray
“This young Exeter City side has looked like a really resolute outfit in the early stages of this season. Big praise has to go to Gary Caldwell for the job he’s doing in the early stages of this season and at home to Leyton Orient, they should be hopeful of making it four wins in a row.
“The O’s haven’t taken to third-tier football too well and while Wellens is deserving of time to turn things round, I can’t see them taking anything from this one.
“The hosts might collect a fifth with of the season and a fifth clean sheet too. I’ll go for a 2-0 home win to keep Exeter top of the pile.”
Score prediction: Exeter City 2-0 Leyton Orient
