After Everton sold him this summer 19-year-old has just scored his first senior international goal

Isaac Price netted his first international goal for Northern Ireland on Thursday night.

The former Everton midfielder equalised only seven minutes into their EURO Qualifier against Slovenia.

Northern Ireland really needed to take something out of their trip to Ljubljana in order to qualify for the Euro 2024 tournament and Price’s early goal gave them a glimmer of hope.

The 19-year-old only made his international debut in March but has started their last three qualifiers, repaying Michael O’Neill’s trust with a tap-in to secure his first goal for his country

Price looked delighted as he celebrated with his teammates, sending the supporters into hysterics as their hopes remained alive.

However, Price was unable to prevent defeat and Northern Ireland were eventually beaten 4-2, leaving their chances of qualifying all but over.

The teenager’s goal comes just months after leaving Everton, where he spent 13 years in their academy.

The youngster made his Premier League debut in May 2022 and the Toffees were eager to keep him at the club with a new contract, however Price instead chose to sign a four-year contract with Standard Liege and leave Merseyside.

Despite swapping England for Belgium, Price still received plenty of support from his former Everton teammates following his goal against Slovenia.

Frances Okoronkwo took to Instagram to share Price’s celebrations with the captain ‘Priceyyyy’ alongside two heart eye emojis. Katia Kouyate also posted his own Instagram story that read ‘Some boi’.

Price shared both stories to his own Instagram as he celebrated his achievement. The midfielder will return to Liege next week, after making six appearances in the Belgian Pro League so far this season.
