Leeds United are closing in on the signing of talented Aberdeen striker Lewis Pirie this week, with the club beating stiff competition to his signature from the Premier League.

The Whites are yet to get up and running with new signings since being relegated from the Premier League back in May.

Pre-season gets underway today with testing taking place, and transfers are going to need to come thick and fast ahead of August’s Championship kick-off.

The Daily Record have reported that Leeds are in advanced talks to sign Aberdeen striker Lewis Pirie this month.

Who is Lewis Pirie?

Pirie has been tipped for big things at Aberdeen with his club trying to keep him at Pittodrie by offering him professional terms.

It comes after a stunning season in youth football for him, scoring 51 goals for club and country in 22/23, catching the eye of Leeds’ scouts that have been keen to scour north of the border for key talent.

Pirie comes to Leeds with a significant reputation already behind him from his youth displays so far.

When it comes to transfers, it’s not the move that will revolutionise our summer and kickstart everything, but it’s a very good signing.

Pirie would likely want to be knocking on the door for professional terms form the moment he turns 17 next January.

There’s a tough pecking order in front of him as things stand, but he is definitely one to watch.
