The chances of Lincoln vs West Ham being called off, Met Office yellow weather warning explained with storm Agnes approaching
West Ham are due to take on Lincoln City in the third round of the Carabao Cup tomorrow night, but storm Agnes could wreak havoc with proceedings after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning.
Storm Agnes is set to hit the UK tomorrow, with winds strengthening throughout the day, and the Lincoln vs West Ham clash could be in danger of getting hit.

The Hammers have made a decent start to the 2023/24 season. In fact, aside from our last two Premier League defeats to Manchester City and Liverpool respectively, it has been a magnificent start from David Moyes‘ men.
A win tomorrow night against League One Lincoln City would raise the confidence levels even more so at the London Stadium.
But could the game be at risk of postponement?
The chances of Lincoln vs West Ham being called off, Met Office yellow weather warning explained with storm Agnes approaching
There have been rumours circulating online that the Carabao Cup clash tomorrow night could fall victim to the weather.
The winds in Lincoln tomorrow gradually increase throughout the day and are expected to reach 35mph by 7pm – just 45 minutes prior to kick off.
The Met Office have issued a ‘yellow weather warning’ for Lincoln tomorrow. But what does that mean?
It is explained here on the Met Office’s official website:
“Yellow warnings can be issued for a range of weather situations. Many are issued when it is likely that the weather will cause some low level impacts, including some disruption to travel in a few places. Many people may be able to continue with their daily routine, but there will be some that will be directly impacted and so it is important to assess if you could be affected. Other yellow warnings are issued when the weather could bring much more severe impacts to the majority of people but the certainty of those impacts occurring is much lower.”
So judging by that, there’s definitely a chance that the game could be called off.
However, I reckon it will go ahead. Gusts of 35 mph is obviously a very strong wind but it’s far from gale force levels.
Storm Agnes may well affect the Lincoln vs West Ham game in terms of quality. However, I’m not sure it will be enough to get the match postponed unless travel is severely disrupted.
