‘Speechless’ admission from Nottingham Forest’s new signing, who offers glimpse into the locker room
The most recent Nottingham Forest news as the goalkeeper considers the opening few games of the campaign and the response from Reds supporters
Goalkeeper Matt Turner claimed that Nottingham Forest players were “disappointed” with the team’s “ambition” following a 1-1 draw with Burnley.
Forest has had a successful start to the Premier League season, winning two and drawing one of their first five games. One of the victories was at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.
They came from behind to draw with newly promoted Burnley their last time out. A far cry from their position in the bottom of the league at this point last season, the results so far have them in eighth place in the Premier League table.

Man City received a significant injury boost for their match against Nottingham Forest, although four players were ruled out.
On Saturday, Steve Cooper’s team will return to action against one of the best teams in the world when they travel to the Etihad Stadium to play Manchester City. In his analysis of the current campaign, Turner stated that the team has benefited from the “fresh perspective” that recent additions have provided. Turner made this statement prior to the game.
“In the three games that we haven’t won, we feel disappointed in the dressing room, which I think is a really good thing,” he said, according to the club website. “Our side has great quality, and I think it will come out over time,” the coach said. “There’s a lot of ambition, a lot of new players with fresh perspectives, and there are guys getting to know each other.
He also sent a warning to Man City ahead of the game, adding: “We’re not a team other sides would want to see on their fixture lists right now.”
As a new arrival himself, Turner has also responded to the welcome he has been given by the City Ground faithful. “It’s a huge honour to be loved by the fans here, it’s such a historic club, so for the fans to welcome me like they have, my family and I have been speechless,” he said.
“It just makes you want to show up to work every day and repay that love but also continue to earn it. You can’t take it for granted.”
