Next summer, a target for Fulham “becomes a bargain” with the potential of a “cheap tran
With a release clause taking effect in the summer of 2019, Fulham may have been given a second chance to sign forward Serhou Guirassy.
This is according to BILD, who claim that the striker ‘becomes a bargain’ next summer as a result of a €20 million provision in his contract.
When Fulham made a last-minute bid to try and replace Aleksandr Mitrovic, they were interested in the striker near the end of the summer transfer season.
Guirassy declined the transfer and opted to remain at VfB Stuttgart, where he has since excelled at the start of current season, therefore a trade never materialized.
It has not gone unnoticed throughout Europe because he has surpassed players like Harry Kane and Victor Boniface in the goalscoring statistics with a total of 10 goals in his first five Bundesliga games.
His displays are earning him plenty of attention and causing plenty of happiness at Stuttgart, who are thanking God that he turned down Fulham in the summer.
If he continues his current goalscoring exploits, the attention on him is only likely to increase, with those sort of numbers the kind that earn you plenty of admirers.
Fulham will surely be among them as they still need a striker and showed interest in the summer and now BILD report that they might have their opportunity as Guiarassy’s current deal, which runs until 2026, includes a €20m release clause.
That’s considered a ‘cheap transfer fee’ for the player, particularly if he continues his current goalscoring form for the remainder of the season.
Whether Fulham would be willing to pay such a sum isn’t clear, but they do have the money and need a striker, especially as Raul Jimenez continues to struggle.
It’s something to keep an eye on moving forwards, with Guirassy shining and that €20m clause likely to be tempting if the goals keep on flowing.
