“Farke expects” that Leeds United will likely receive a significant injury boost the following week. Frank Hay
Depending on how well Patrick Bamford recovers from recent hamstring issues, he might be available for Leeds United’s trip to Southampton the following week.
Injuries have prevented Patrick Bamford from playing consistently for Leeds since then, and he is still far from regaining his 20/21 level of performance.
Since Joel Piroe was recruited in to score the goals Bamford struggled with last season, his current form is not anything that will worry fans.

Now, Phil Hay of The Athletic has provided an update from Farke’s pre-Watford news conference, confirming that he won’t be ready for this weekend but will in eight days when the team travels to Southampton:
I don’t see Bamford starting over Piroe or Georginio Rutter, but to have him as an option is a boost, especially when there isn’t the pressure on him to start every week.
The issue we always had with Bamford was that his form was the be all and end all to our results and performances, proven by how well we did in 20/21 when he stayed fit, and how badly we did after that.
Now that we’re not relying on him, perhaps that weight can be lifted from the striker and we can see the best of him.
