NEWS FLASH: Fulham manager admits defeat following scoreless draw with Crystal Palace

Following Saturday’s scoreless draw with Crystal Palace, Fulham manager Marco Silva thought his team deserved all three points.

Throughout the 90 minutes, the west Londoners had 10 shots, five of which were on goal, but they were unable to beat Sam Johnstone.

When Johnstone encountered Harrison Reed’s cross heading for the back post, he kept Willian out. The Brazilian attempted to beat the Palace goalkeeper, but was unsuccessful.

Only three of the Eagles’ shots were on goal.

We created the most chances to win.

“[We had] the clearest chances, especially Raul [Jimenez] in the first half. Andreas [Pereira], too, when Raul squared the ball. From Willian as well. We created enough.

“We showed quality, pushed them back and controlled the game. [There was] good focus and reaction when we lost the ball, and to control players like Mateta and Edouard when they changed to 4-4-2. Eze is always a threat, a top, top player.

“If someone has to win the game, it should be Fulham because we were the best team on the pitch.”
