Leeds United well better off as latest blow emerges for £23m man in Elland Road bad books – View

Leeds United h

ave come out of the deal with Bournemouth for Tyler Adams much better off, with the USMNT midfielder picking up another injury setback recently.

The summer window was dominated at Elland Road by the outgoings that were simply out of the club’s control, some more professional than others in their efforts to leave.

Bournemouth proved to be the destination for two of Leeds’ outbound stars, Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams, and the manner in which they secured their South Coast transfers left a foul taste in the mouth.

How is Tyler Adams getting on?

A £23million permanent exit, Adams was Leeds’ only major sale in terms of money coming in, and it was then revealed that he was threatening legal action in order to get his wish of returning to the Premier League.

CEO Angus Kinnear shared that the midfielder is not going to be on the club’s Christmas card list following his antics in the summer window, and that sentiment rang true with the club’s parting statement, mustering up 18 words to confirm the news with no well wishes.

Since then, he’s gone through more of his rehabilitation following hamstring surgery that ended his season at Leeds back in March, making his debut for the Cherries in their EFL Cup win over Stoke City.

Who should start next to Ampad?

What’s the latest?

A home clash with Arsenal at the weekend saw the USMNT man miss out again, though, as Andoni Iraola confirmed further trouble with his hamstring.

Adams is set to be out for “some time”, causing a major headache not only for him but for the player too that was so keen to rush back to the Premier League, that his wait goes on for his top-flight comeback.

Meanwhile, Leeds banked £23million, allowing them to spend £17.5million on Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara, and Ilia Gruev, a setup that leaves them far better off in a possession-based setup under Farke.

No one wants to see players get injuries, but the way in which Adams ditched Leeds for this opportunity, only to see his chance snatched away from him for three initial months won’t bring any sympathy from West Yorkshire.
