Steelers Rule Out One Player vs. Rams

The Pittsburgh Steelers will miss their tight end for a second game.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without their starting tight end for a second game as Pat Freiermuth has officially been ruled out for Week 7 against the Los Angeles Rams due to a hamstring injury.

Freiermuth missed Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens, but returned to practice after the bye week with hopes of playing against the Rams. He was a full participant to start practice but aggravated the injury and was forced to be sidelined for a second game.

According to Tom Pelissero, Freiermuth could miss multiple weeks after the setback. In his absence, the Steelers will turn to Darnell Washington, Connor Heyward and Rodney Williams at tight end.

Outside of Freiermuth, Pittsburgh has a clean bill of health heading to Los Angeles. Despite being limited throughout the week, outside linebacker Nick Herbig does not have an injury tag. T.J. Watt missed a day due to a heel issue, but will play and told media it was only a one-day situation.
