Carlos Alcaraz of Southampton has been linked to a January transfer to Newcastle United. Last season, the 20-year-old Argentine sensation made an impression in the Premier League, especially when the Saints visited St. James’ Park in April.
According to rumors, the Magpies made inquiries during the summer transfer window, and the young player has slipped down St Mary’s’s pecking order. The fact that he hasn’t started any of their last three Championship games may prompt Newcastle to make a January transfer. Naturally, United acquired Tino Livramento from the Saints in the summer, and according to talkSPORT, Eddie Howe is a huge Alcaraz admirer.
The former Racing Club attacking midfielder, who joined Southampton for £12 million in 2022, is currently valued at about £15 million.
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, attributes his major break in British football to Eddie Howe. Howe declined to accept the position as Celtic manager, therefore the Australian was named the new manager.
Before being hired by Spurs this summer, he had two successful seasons in Scotland. In an interview with the BBC, he said: “I’ve got to thank Eddie Howe because that was pretty much done. In the end, Eddie simply didn’t feel confident accepting the part for a variety of reasons. It was already late since they had made such significant progress toward his appointment.
They had to make a decision quickly because the preseason was about to begin. After that, I believe they simply saw potential in me since they had nothing to lose. Because it was the missing piece, I was anticipating it. Although I had success, it wasn’t where I knew it would have the most impact.
“I desired to be in that setting. was an instant. My wife and I just sat there and said, “It’s happening.” It began to happen when I was 55 years old.
