Update on Injuries: O’Riordan, Tracey, and Colkett

There will be “every chance” for Connor O’Riordan to compete in the match against Colchester United on Saturday.

According to manager Lee Bell, the large defender is “tough” and could eventually recover from a calf injury.

O’Riordan left last weekend’s 2-2 draw between Crewe Alexandra and AFC Wimbledon at halftime but has since been working with medical personnel.

We’ll give Connor every chance to participate, Bell assured. We’ll see how he is today (Thursday) and tomorrow because he’s a tough kid.

Bell also provided updates on midfielder Charlie Colkett, who has yet to play this season after sustaining a hamstring strain in the final preseason game, and forward Shilow Tracey, who has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury.

Shilow is progressing well, Bell continued. He still feels pain in his ankle, so the game this weekend will likely be too soon for him.

Charlie playing for the Under-21s in midweek was enjoyable to watch. The task before us all is to get him onto the field more frequently and get him through a string of games leading up to his participation in the first team.
