Erol Bulut urges Cardiff City players to take more risks and aim for the top in punchy monologue - Wales Online

Impressive Cardiff City player ratings as Perry Ng shines on derby day again and Rubin Colwill sends message to Erol Bulut

Here’s how the players rated as Cardiff City eased to derby day glory over Bristol City

Jak Alnwick 7

Made a really good fingertip save to deny Cornick early on. Had to be alert to keep Knight out after the break, but otherwise didn’t have a massive amount to do.

Perry Ng 8 – STAR MAN

Took his goal really well from the corner. Was exposed on occasion defensively in the first half, but found his feet well. Made several really good tackles, and and also did his bit in the final third. Subbed late on

Handled the threat of Cornick pretty well. Only Ng made as many tackles. Pivotal to keeping Bristol City at arm’s length.

Mark McGuinness 7

Beastly in the air all afternoon. Complemented Goutas really nicely throughout the afternoon.

Jamilu Collins 7

Solid outing out wide. Played his part in the build-up to Colwill’s stunning second too.

Manolis Siopis 7

Occasionally got caught out position, but always recovered brilliantly. Combative as always in the middle and confident on the ball.

Joe Ralls 7

Played in some lovely balls for much of the first half. Looked after possession really well too. Influence just faded a little after the break. Would still perhaps consider himself a little unlucky to be hooked off. Subbed.

Josh Bowler 6

Worked really hard out wide all afternoon. Fired a low effort wide after the break. A decent outing, but probably more in his locker. Was caught out in possession on a couple of occasions too. Subbed

Callum Robinson 6

Plenty of endeavour for much of the afternoon. Might well have scored just after the break had his effort not been blocked. Otherwise seldom looked like scoring. Still a useful performance, but he might well be a little frustrated. Subbed.

Karlan Grant 6

Solid presence in the air, and made some good runs. A decent outing, but didn’t quite

Yakou Meite 7

Perhaps lucky to have escaped a card early on. Worked so hard all afternoon, often with no reward. Was usually at the heart of his team’s most promising moves, though.

Subs:

Rubin Colwill (on for Meite 57) – A brilliant response to Bulut’s recent comments. Sensational goal – 8

Ryan Wintle (on for Ralls 57) – Didn’t do an awful lot wrong, but a quiet outing on the whole – 6
