‘Postecoglou’s No.1 Target’: Tottenham Now Ready to Make Late Push for £50 Million-Rated ‘Incredible Talent’
Tottenham Hotspur appear to be set for an eventful end to the 2023 summer transfer window and could finally spend some of the £100 million fee received from Harry Kane’s sale to Bayern Munich. The North London club are targeting Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson, according to reports by The Telegraph.

Forest Expects £50 Million For Young Star
Spurs are set to begin talks with Nottingham Forest to sign young forward Brennan Johnson before the summer window closes on September 1st. The Lilywhites are understood to have a view of completing the deal next week before the window closes as part of a late flurry of transfer business before the deadline day.

Forest reportedly value the 22-year-old at around £50 million, which has made Tottenham consider a variety of proposals to sign him. Spurs are contemplating the possibility of offering Steve Cooper’s side players on top of a fixed fee, with Davinson Sanchez and Bryan Gill two players they are considering sending to Nottingham. However, they also believe that a bid of £40 million plus add-ons will be enough to convince Forest to sell.
What Could Brennan Johnson Bring to Spurs?
Alasdair Gold has claimed that Johnson is Ange Postecoglou’s “number one attacking target” for the final week of the summer window. The Australian believes him to be a perfect fit for his system, appreciating his versatility in particular.
The young prospect is a versatile attacking player and has played as a right-winger, centre-forward and attacking midfielder for his side since their return to the Premier League. He scored eight goals and provided three assists in the league for Forest last season and was vital to their survival from relegation.

Johnson, who has been hailed as an “incredible talent” in the past, could be a smart addition to Ange Postecoglou’s squad and will add a lot more depth to this attacking options. He can lead the line for the Lilywhites, and even possibly be an alternative to Dejan Kulusevski on the right.
The 22-year-old is a fast, exciting talent who loves dribbling past defenders and can add more energy to Spurs’ attack if they are able to get a deal done before the transfer deadline.
