Raptors Update Injury Report Ahead of Spurs Game
The Toronto Raptors don’t expect Precious Achiuwa to be back on the court Sunday afternoon when they take on the San Antonio Spurs. Achiuwa remains doubtful with a left groin injury, the team announced. He did participate in the team’s five-on-five scrimmage following practice, per Sportsnet’s Michael Grange, suggesting a return later next week could be more realistic. Otto Porter Jr. will be back following a one-game absence as he works his way back into game shape following a toe injury that held him to just eight games last season. Porter is likely to slide back into the rotation and replace Jalen McDaniels
as he did in Toronto’s blowout victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. The Raptors had been taking it slow with the 30-year-old oft-injured wing, but the organization sees him as a valuable veteran shooter off the bench. It appears Scottie Barnes is good to go as he is not listed on the injury report for Toronto. He appeared to tweak his ankle on Thursday against the Philadelphia 76ers but remained in the game. Barnes has dealt with ankle injuries throughout his career both in the NBA and prior to joining the league and admitted earlier this season that they can be scary for him. He hobbled around for a few possessions against the 76ers, but the tweak does not appear to be concerning
Toronto will still be without Christian Koloko who remains sidelined with an ongoing respiratory issue. There has been no update on his status since prior to the season. The San Antonio Spurs have yet to release their injury report. Copyright ABG-SI LLC. SPORTS ILLUSTRATED is a registered trademark of ABG-SI LLC. All Rights Reserved.
