Cleveland Browns Sign Two Players In NFL Free Agency | Browns News - YouTube

NFL world reacts to Browns QB announcement

“His contract might go down as the worst in NFL history.”

The Cleveland Browns are P.J. Walker’s team now.

At least for Sunday, possibly longer. How much longer remains unknown.

The Browns announced Wednesday they have signed Walker to the active roster, and he will start Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks in place of the injured Deshaun Watson.

Walker started in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers and played most of the win Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts as Watson dealt with a shoulder injury. An ESPN report Tuesday revealed that the injury is worse than originally thought. Watson has a strained rotator cuff, an injury common in MLB pitchers that usually takes up to six weeks to heal.

In the meantime, Walker gets another chance to show what he can do. The fourth-year quarterback completed only 15-of-32 passes for 178 yards and an interception Sunday.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski did not address Watson’s prospects beyond Sunday, but reading between the lines given Tuesday’s rotator cuff report, Walker might be in for more starts.
