Everton’s head coach Prior to Brentford, Sean Dyche provided updates on Jack Harrison’s and Seamus Coleman’s health.

Sean Dyche provided an update on the health of Seamus Coleman and Jack Harrison and described the role that Everton’s captain continues to play even when he isn’t on the field.

When asked if summer acquisition Harrison will be able to go to Brentford on Saturday, the Blues manager responded, “Not to start. He is back on the grass, has been in this scenario for a while, is doing quite well, I must add, and is extremely clear-headed. He also appears to be in good physical shape, but he is not yet prepared to leave.

With all due respect to the young players who have been heavily involved in pre-season owing to injuries and players departing the club et centra, the market, and all the other tales, I believe it will definitely help the depth of the squad and the competitive character of the squad. Some of these players, like Jack and Dwight [McNeil] when he’s fit – genuinely fit, I mean – and Dom [Calvert-Lewin] are obviously ahead of that in terms of learning and maturing.

“They are more experienced than some of these younger players, so having that depth, if you will, both in the starting 11 and off the bench, would be helpful. That strengthens your playing position considerably.

“Now it’s getting that last aspect of the fitness right,” continued Dyche. Dwight went in a little bit too quickly; he is actually just becoming fit again. If I’m being completely honest, I asked a lot of him during the last performance, but he’ll rapidly reach true fitness.

“Jack is comparable, so we just need to give him a little extra time. Dom’s story speaks for itself, but he’s growing sharper with more training time, all of which help. He’s been out for a few months but still looks fit and sharp.
