With LA Galaxy, the former Blades captain is off to a fantastic start in the US.

After having a successful start to his career with LA Galaxy, Billy Sharp has become an immediate hit in the US. The former captain, who led his cherished Blades to two Premier League promotions and a League One championship, made the change last month.

His goal-scoring prowess is well-known on these shores, and in 2016, United’s ascension from the third tier was greatly aided by his prodigious goal-scoring performance. Following their promotion parade in the city center, Sharp said a tearful farewell to Sheffield United fans. When he signed a new one-year contract after being informed that was all he would be getting, he was aware that the 2022–2023 promotion campaign was approaching.

I was committed to returning to the Premier League and playing for however many minutes were necessary. It was hard to accept when that chance didn’t materialize.

The difficult element for me in English football was always going to be playing for someone else. The potential simply did not excite me…Then this chance presented itself, and I’ve always wanted to play abroad. It’s not something I anticipated happening at this point in my life.

My family and I jumped at the opportunity to come here, and they are both really loving it.

Sharp anticipates appearing in the most recent season of Disney’s Welcome to Wrexham documentary, which features United’s FA Cup victory over Phil Parkinson’s team.

Sharp, who was at the center of a fight between Parkinson and other players in a tunnel, worries that the documentary won’t tell the complete story. Sharp said, “I scored the goal, which eliminated them, and a small altercation occurred in the locker room.

“Based on previous interactions, I don’t particularly like their manager, and I suspect he doesn’t like me either. It’s just one of those things in football that may occasionally get quite hot. They’ll play the videos that portray me negatively, and I know what they’re going to do. It’s alright.

I’ll hold off on speaking till I know the outcome. Since we defeated them in the FA Cup, the record book indicates they can have a
