New contract written by Jak Alnwick
We are happy to report that Cardiff City and Jak Alnwick have renewed their contract.
The new contract for the goalie will be in effect until the summer of 2025.
Alnwick first started working for City in 2022. This season, the former Newcastle United player has made six appearances for the Bluebirds across all competitions. On Saturday night, Jak preserved a clean sheet as the Bluebirds defeated Swansea City.
Speaking on Cardiff City TV, Jak exclaimed, “I’m thrilled.” It happened a few weeks ago, and as soon as I learned about it, I was motivated to complete it. It was quick and simple.
I adore this place. It’s a home away from home for me, as I’ve already remarked. I was born and raised in Newcastle, but one of the things that made me want to stay was how at home I felt here. I’m eager to carry on living here.
Since they arrived, the coaches have changed classes. They’ve all been excellent, and it’s been a fresh start. Of course, Mario Galinovi, my goalkeeping coach, deserves a big shoutout. He’s been outstanding from the beginning.

Jak has recently pledged his future to the Club, joining Rubin Colwill, Joel Colwill, Ryan Wintle, Mark McGuinness, and Perry Ng in doing so.
