David Wagner had his say on the key talking points after Norwich City’s 2-0 Championship win over Birmingham City.

Gabby Sara and Jon Rowe sealed a fourth Carrow Road home win in five to respond after last weekend’s humilating 6-2 loss at Plymouth.

Wagner spoke to the media after the game on Saturday afternoon.

This is what he had to say.

“I think now with these two performances we don’t have to any longer speak about that (Plymouth) game. We can put this game to bed now,” he said. “I think the players have done fantastic. They worked very hard, played get out of their structure, exactly what they should do. They played to their pattern in ball possession, we looked absolutely in control, we were able to create our moments.

“Even if in the first half, maybe the final pass to create the clear cut chances was not there as often as we wanted. But I always had the feeling we were in control of the game and we can create. We defended very well in the first half

Second half, obviously, we had this one moment, when Gunny (Angus Gunn) kept us in the game. But it is great to know you have one of the best, or maybe the best, goalkeeper in the league in your goal. And after this I think we created moments, and we scored wonderful goals as well.

“I really liked the game management at 2-0. We criticised ourselves for the game management against Stoke. And the players learnt their lesson on this as well, as they learnt the lessons from the last away game where we played totally out of our structure, where we were not in position, where we didn’t play to our strengths.

“In this game they’ve done it with a lot of focus and concentration and with a lot of effort. This is why I’m absolutely delighted about this performance.”
