Packers Suffer Major Blow Ahead of Steelers Game
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers could face a Green Bay Packers team that is down their biggest defensive back as Jaire Alexander is now in question to play in Week 10.
Alexander recently returned from a back injury that kept him sidelined for three games. Now, he’s popped up on the injury report with a shoulder problem, keeping him sidelined at practice the last two days, and putting a small chance on him playing against the Steelers.
This season, Alexander has recorded four pass deflections and allowed 68% of his covered passes to be completed.
Green Bay recently traded Rasul Douglas to the Buffalo Bills, limiting their depth at cornerback. Without Alexander, the Packers would turn to seventh-round rookie Carrington Valentine. Robert Rochell and Corey Ballentine would also be heavily involved in the rotation.
For the Steelers, there’s a pretty solid chance they look to get George Pickens rolling again, and in the meantime, Diontae Johnson has torched defense in his first two games back from injury.
Without the Packers star cornerback, this could be an opportunity for Pittsburgh’s offense to take advantage.
