STEVE Thompson dropped his first points in his fourth game as Oldham Athletic caretaker boss as the Latics had to settle for a point in a hard-fought encounter at The Vale.
An Alex Reid strike just after the half hour put Thompson’s men in front, but Stuart Maynard’s team levelled just five minutes later through Sam Bowen.


It takes Thompson’s points tally to 10 from four matches as Latics chief since taking over from David Unsworth earlier this month.

STEVE THOMPSON says he wants the chance to create a legacy at Oldham Athletic – and take the Latics back into the Football League.

Caretaker chief Thompson took over the manager’s hotseat from David Unsworth earlier this month and has since changed the landscape at Boundary Park, leading his side to three successive victories before yesterday’s trip to Wealdstone.
